Description

Student Engagement Policy. Every Government school in Victoria (Primary and Secondary) is currently developing a Student Engagement Policy. This will replace the Student code of Conduct (1994) and the Student Attendance Policy (1997). The Policy encourages the preventative, whole school approach to student engagement, attendance and behaviour. The Policy also promotes the benefits of a supportive and positive school culture where the diverse learning and wellbeing needs of students are recognised. All schools will be required to develop the Student Engagement Policy by the beginning of Term 1, 2010, which articulates the rights, responsibilities and expectations of all members of the school community, including students and parents. It is important that all members of the school community have a chance to have input into the development of the Policy. Parents are invited to attend a morning tea where they will have the Policy explained further and be able to have input into it's development. The meeting will take place on Wednesday 25th November at 11am and is expected to run for one hour. If you would like to attend the session please fill in the slip below and return it to the General Office by Wednesday 18th November. It is important we know numbers attending to cater and to ensure a big enough space for the meeting is organised. Questions relating to the Student Engagement Policy can be directed to Cathy Coppinger Advocacy Coordinator.
